displayed on my head unit screen. Seems there are several people who are having problems related to either their install, or their head units and NOT the tuner itself. I've owned my XMD1000 for almost 3 years in 2 different cars and it never once lost channel programming. The XMD1000 works exactly like its supposed to. I use it with a Pioneer CD head unit and i get 3 banks of XM channels (XM1, XM2, XM3) and i can see artist, song title, channel name and number, etc. If your XMD1000 tuner takes up the Auxillary port or somehow miraculously interferes with AM AND FM, then you should get a different head unit as this is not any problem with the XM tuner. My Pioneer head unit has a specific connection for the XM tuner and it's not possible for XM to interfere with AM or FM in any way at all. This tuner was very easy to self-install, works perfectly and has no major problems.
It has worked great in my Dodge Truck withe the factory head unit.I wish everything in life worked as well.
Product delivered in about a week. This, along with the TERK JVC adapter for my car stereo, lets me receive XM radio on my car stereo. Works great. I love commercial-free radio, and it only costs me an additional $6/mo (in addition to my $12.95/mo existing subscription) for this second unit.
Adequate cord length provided without the hassle of too much excess to conceal; quick & easy installation; clear signal.
I bought this for computer playback and control.I cannot speak for the in-dash features but all the people complaining about the radio forgetting presets it's the head unit (your radio) and not this tuner device that is forgetting the presets.I built a cable to control this via RS-232 port on my computer and have the hardware to add TOSlink optical output, but I haven't soldered that part in yet.The device is impossibly small and compact--really amazing.I had to really struggle to pry/grind/snip/file the FAKRA connector off the antenna jack. I'm not sure why the locking connector is needed in a car, anyway, because the antenna plug firmly stays connected without the FAKRA connector. The device supports the extended 32-character song/artist feature if your computer software or head unit supports it (I have never heard of any automotive head unit capable of handling the extended PAD data, but it's supported by this little device).
